Business
Expancel is a business within AkzoNobel Pulp & Performance Chemicals, and is a world leading provider of expandable microspheres. The main activities of Expancel are concentrated at Stockvik, about 400 km north of Stockholm, Sweden. Here you find the head-quarters, and the departments of RD&I, production and marketing. To cover the markets in America and Asia in an efficient way Expancel has established subsidiary companies in US and China. We have sales offices in Germany, Poland, Benelux, Italy, Russia, China and Brazil. A network of agents and distributors is also established which enables Expancel to cover the demand for microspheres wherever it exists.
99% of the production is exported and the main applications are in printing inks, civil explosives and polymer and paint industries.

The Expancel plant is located at Site Stockvik that is operated by Pulp and Performance Chemicals. The site consists of three separate and independent BU?s where each unit has their own characteristics and complexity. At site also three outside companies has their own production plants. (AGA, SKW-Metalurgy & Superior Graphite).

Responsibilities
As our Production manager, you have the responsibility to manage the Expancel production department and develop the department in accordance with AkzoNobel guidelines, Expancel strategy and plant strategy and goals.
In a safe way organising daily operations in the production facilities and ensure the most efficient production possible. Responsible for BBS in the plant.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

To be successful in this position you need a solid experience from the process industry. You have a university degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.

You have several years of managerial experience with proven good leadership skills. You are able to drive change with high engagement in the organization. Experience of LEAN or other manufacturing excellence programs is an advantage in this position.

As a person you are responsible, result oriented and communicative. You have a proactive work style and you take initiative for improvements. You share our value that safety always comes first.

You are fluent in Swedish and English.

Additional information
This is a permanent position on a full time basis, reporting to the sBU Operations Manager Specialty Products based at Stockvik. There are 7 direct reports and the Expancel plant has about 90 employees in total.
