We are strengthening our Engine and Component Plant in Skövde to meet future challenges with a Supervisor position. As our new supervisor you will be responsible for approximately 35 employees in the section Machining Cylinder Blocks. The position reports to the superintendent (operations manager) and is included in the department's management group. You will work 4-shift together with your team and need to be flexible between shift forms in order to commit to the departments management. We need someone who is hands on with strong decision-making ability and high technical competence to lead this team. You have the ability to come up with fast solutions when necessary and a strong strategic mindset to make proactive changes of our processes and working methods. This is one of our plant's most critical production areas, are you ready for a new challenge?

Main responsibilities

* Management of employees and teams according to Volvo Cars Manufacturing System (VCMS) guidelines
* Operational responsibility to deliver products (engine blocks) at the right time, right quality and at the right cost
* Ensure effective use of resources (materials, equipment and personnel)
* Strong commitment to participate in the management work as a member of our departments management team
* Lead activities towards established goals, follow up results and drive corrective activities when results deviate from the desired outcome
* Work environment responsibility within the area
* Implement and communicate VCMS and act upon aspired lean leadership behaviors

Required qualifications


* B.Sc. degree from technical university or equivalent work experience
* Competent in managing staff to handle automated manufacturing operations
* Experienced from engineering work in either production engineering, production and/or maintenance
* Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
* Academic studies focused on industry and/or leadership is meritorious

Personal qualities

* Goal-oriented and driven to achieve high results
* Strong interest and ability in developing, engaging and coaching employees and teams
* Structured, good analytical skills and holistic view
* Communicative and excellent corporation skills
