Job Description
Vattenfall’s pipeline of Onshore Windfarm projects in Sweden is growing and we are looking for a Project Manager to construct them
This is a great opportunity to help achieve Vattenfall’s ambition of enabling fossil free living within one generation. In addition, you’ll become part of an engaging team of motivated and competent people and have plenty of opportunity to challenge and develop yourself.
Information about the role
Developing and constructing an onshore windfarm is a complex process, managed by a multidisciplinary team through numerous project phases, involving multiple technical components and a M€ budget. Leading all of these resources, in a complex environment, is crucial to ensure that each project is constructed within agreed budget, timeline, safety and quality parameters.
As a Project Manager you would be responsible for the following:
Successfully delivering (a part of) the construction project to time, budget, HSSE and quality goals by leading your project team
Building a project team and inclusive (safety) culture, together with our subcontractors and suppliers
Priority setting and having clearly communicated and shared project goals
Decision taking within your mandate; decisive yet inclusive, using the internal and external specialists in your team to their full potential
Ensuring an adequate project organization is in place, with the right competences and experience levels, clear roles and responsibilities and by applying the available (governance) processes and tools
Depending on the phase of the project, aligning with other internal departments such as Procurement, M&A, Market& Site Development or Operations to create the right boundary conditions for the project to be successful
Liaising with external and local stakeholders, and where applicable investment or JV partners
Reporting monthly to higher management (and project partners if applicable) based on deviations and changes

Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
For this role we are looking for a combination of personality and competences along with commercial experience. We expect that the successful candidate(s) can demonstrate an appropriate level of proficiency in project management, and has an affinity with construction projects and the (renewable) energy industry.
A successful Project Manager is able to build meaningful relationships and teams and can communicate effectively with others to achieve a shared goal (collaboration / team building / people focus). They have a well-developed (personal) leadership style that is in sync with their own personal values and is backed by self-reflection and the ability to be vulnerable. We are looking for someone who is skilled in determining priorities and setting boundaries for themselves and their team members, often under pressure, and who is able to take a step back and consider different scenarios before making a decision (problem solving). Particularly for this role we are searching for someone who enjoys being visible to the rest of the organization, proactively shares their successes and learnings (open) and who enjoys educating and coaching others.
Given our current project pipeline the preference is for a candidate based in (or close to) Sweden and willing to spend around 50% of their time in our Stockholm HQ and/or construction project sites. To be able to engage with all the different project stakeholders and connect with the entire project team, a good command (both speaking and writing) of both Swedish and English is required for this role.
Some international travel is anticipated and encouraged to other construction sites and/or other offices in our different countries to build relationships.
