Project Support Officer for the Operating Unit Heat Projects


Department and role description
As a Project Support Officer you will contribute with your daily work towards Vattenfall’s goal of becoming fossil free within one generation. The position is within the Project Support team part of Project Excellence in the OU Heat Projects. Heat Projects is responsible for the development and construction of the heat and power generating assets and the heat grid within BA Heat. The current Project Support team consists of 14 Project Support Officers and 6 Project administrators in Germany, Netherlands and Sweden.
 
The goal of a Project Support Officer is to ensure successful projects together with the project manager and project team. The successful candidate is capable of detecting the needs within the projects and is flexible to jump in where there is demand in the different project management disciplines.
By being part of Project Excellence, you will promote the best practices and standards developed within the organization. In this role, you are an ambassador of Lean processes and seek for improvement opportunities. As a Project Support Officer you will constantly learn and develop as there are constant new exciting work tasks in the daily job.
 
Your main responsibilities as Project Support Officer
• Financial Project Control: support in forecast and planning of budget, preparation of budget latest estimates, preparation of project budget stress tests, set-up and maintain structure of the project in the SAP system.
• Risk Management: conduct, prepare and follow-up of risk workshops, maintain risk register and deliver input for the project and company risk reporting.
• Project Steering and Decision Making Processes: support the project manager in setting up the work packages (WBS), in the preparation of project steering group meetings, in preparation of Project Health Checks (PHC) and VAR and support in following up recommendations.
• Project Practices and Processes: set up and maintain a Project specific handbook based on the Sequential Project Management Methodology (former VPMM) and other relevant documents and structures, prepare, conduct and follow-up lessons learned sessions.
 
Competences and Skills
In this role the interpersonal skills are really important as you will be dealing with complex and diverse project teams. The ideal candidate is a motivated open person with:
- Strong communication skills (active listening, empathy, open-mindedness)
- High degree of self-initiative, engagement and reliability.
Relevant experience in project work within various projects and/or Project Management Certification (IPMA-D, Prince 2) is required. As we work in an international environment we expect that you have a strong verbal and written command of the Swedish and English language.


Location: The position is based in Uppsala , work is divide between main office and project location(s).
