Role Description

We are looking for a Prototyping Technician with mechanical background to join our Advanced Design and Prototyping Team. You will be working in a small and very multidisciplinary team involved in a broad range of prototyping activities.

To succeed in this role, we see that you enjoy “hands-on” work and is passionate about aircraft and prototyping. A start-up mindset and self-motivation are very important as well. Additionally, you enjoy taking on difficult challenges and finding innovative solutions, you readily adapt to change, and you are motivated and driven to continually learn and improve.

Your responsibilities will be to:

- Work as part of a team to build mockups, proof of concepts, test rigs and other sorts of prototypes
- Work with CNC and conventional machines for the produce prototype parts
- Assist in the management and development of the hangar facilities
- Help maintaining an appropriate inventory of tools and equipment to support prototyping activities
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment
- Oversee and maintain the goods-in receiving area and supervise local logistics
- Ensure safe working practices

Qualifications & Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of experience with similar tasks and responsibilities
- Knowledge of CAD & CAM
- Metal working (Lathe, CNC & Manual Machining, Welding, Panel beating)
- Wood working (General construction)
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Eagerness to work with others
- Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission

The ideal candidate would have

- Completed Health and Safety training (BAM training or similar)
- Experience with Composites
- Fork-lift truck license
- Knowledge of local area and suppliers is an advantage
- 3D Printing
