QA Tester - contract

We are now looking for a QA Tester to work at Uprise. You will perform a vital role in game development, testing, tuning, debugging, and suggesting detailed refinements that lead to higher quality and better playability of the finished product. The job involves testing the product in a systematic way, analyzing its performance against the designer´s intentions, identifying problems, and suggesting improvements.

As a QA Tester, you will be responsible for running test cases, performing regression, verifying claimed bug fixes and entering data into a bug tracking system. Teamwork and a professional attitude is key to this role. Although testing can be fun and rewarding, it is hard work. We are looking for a responsible, dependable candidate who has an eye for detail, great work ethics, excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Key responsibilities
- Test case regression, verification and ad-hoc of newly implemented features
- Written communication of defect information
- Tracking defects within proper pipelines to resolution
- Researching of defects to provide detailed insight to stakeholders
- Ensure smoke testing for daily build iterations
- Analyze and report potential risks to features and systems
- Creating test suite skeletons as well as detailed test cases for product testing offsite and onsite
- Prioritizing issues in database to expedite bug-fixing efforts
- Maintain databases up to date so key stakeholders are always aware of the status
- Assist with creating detailed documents for the product
- Provide timely and organized feedback during the concept and production phase of the product
- Work with onsite and offsite teams to help drive the title quality
- Acquire knowledge of internal & 1st Party guidelines on multiple platforms

What skills does DICE look for?
- Ambitious, determined, hard-working and with good organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong observational skills, analytical and detail-oriented
- Capability to be flexible and team-oriented with the aptitude to balance multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Strong or good knowledge of HTML 5 is preferred
- Web testing experience is a must
- Strong or good understanding of mobile hardware and software is preferred
- General understanding of popular web programming languages
- Experience and understanding of consoles (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) and PC
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Experience as a QA Tester on at least 1 - 4 released software products is preferred
- Game industry experience strongly preferred
- High School diploma
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent desirable

General Information

As part of the application process we might ask you to perform a practical work test. The position is temporary and applications will be selected continuously. You must be legally eligible to work in Sweden, Uppsala.
