Quality Assurance Manager to Assa Abloy in Malmö

Arbetsbeskrivning

Are you looking for a new challenge within Quality Assurance? Maybe this job as Manager for the QA team in Malmö is for you!

We are looking for a committed, driven, people-oriented leader who will be a part of further building of the Yale EMEA, Smart Residential R&D area, through leading the QA activities across products and services, mainly in development but also products and services “in-life”. Several very exciting developments are just about to kick-off, and you will be an important part of these initiatives.

Yale Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), grouped within the EMEA Division, is a wholly owned organization within ASSA ABLOY, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of door opening solutions, meeting tough end-user demands for safety, security and convenience.
The R&D team, within Smart Residential, Yale EMEA, was established in its current form in January 2019. The team is undergoing considerable change and growth, with added scope, skillset and responsibilities required to meet market opportunities driven both by the broader EMEA-, and Global Smart Residential organizations.

Further to this general growth, the team is increasingly involved in setting strategic choices, direction, and planning forward to be efficient in what we do and staying competitive in the face of increasing competitive pressure. This is true both for products and services.
The scope currently covers smart locking points, alarm systems, surveillance/video solutions, and in-home services. It involves product-, and service development, operations, maintenance and third-line support.

What you will be doing
As Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead and develop your team of QA Testers, set goals and continuously monitor progress, as well as take a hands-on approach in the most complex areas of our deliveries. You will also be the subject matter expert in QA practices, providing support to QA Testers and the overall Yale Smart Residential development team, with specific challenges they encounter. Through this, you will build QA capability within the team, continuously developing our processes, tools and ways of working.

You will work closely with the Customer Services organization to establish processes of consolidating market feedback, verifying errors and raising tickets to development. Further you will represent the Quality Assurance competence area – and participate and support in the greater QA network across Smart Residential and EMEA and in general, represent Yale Smart Residential R&D internally to ASSA ABLOY and externally.
You will also create and develop high performance teams and make people come together and work towards the same goal.

ASSA ABLOY strives to create a culture based on our core values: empowerment, innovation and integrity, and to remain ahead of competition and bring new products to market in a fast and cost-effective way.

What we are looking for
We believe that you probably have a university degree slanted toward one or several relevant engineering disciplines.
You understand the advantages of structure and processes as well as delegation and have the ability to develop high performing teams, be open-minded and make people come together.
The position requires minimum of a minimum of 7 years of work experience in a related area. Clear evidence of achieving targets and delivering growth. Experience of working with consumer electronics is valued highly.

Necessary skills for success:
general knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process.
experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools.
people skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills.
planning and management skills.
knowledge of the domain, system or application-under-test.
experience in programming or managing programming teams

Fluency in English, willingness to travel, and being culturally aware and able to inspire across diverse teams and working groups, are also important areas to master.
