Quality Engineer responsible for operating the QMS

On behalf of our client, a Paper Mill south of Stockholm, we are now looking for at Quality Engineer who will be responsible for operating the Quality Management System (QMS), writing procedures and processes to support the QMS development. This consultancy assignment will last for at least 6 months and start as soon as possible. You will lead and undertake audits across all areas of the business as well as across the supply chain. You will provide training, champion the Quality Management System, work to achieve and constantly improve quality, production and cost goals. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for achieving set goals and constantly improving operations. Responsibilities
-Maintain the quality system for the Paper Mill and develop its integration into the Quality Management System.

-Ensure applicability of current quality policies, procedures and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates/ modifications related to ISO quality systems.

-Maintain the Quality Manual and Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate.

-Schedule and perform internal and supplier audit activities, to include pre-audit planning, audit execution and evaluation and post-audit follow-up and recommendations, and assist in training/guidance to other auditors.

-Host external Quality System audits.

-Provide training on Quality issues and business processes.

-Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with plant continuous improvement initiatives.

-Establish programs, policies and procedures to evaluate accuracy and capability of processes, products, production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

-Improve the performance and efficiency of overall quality by identifying adverse trends, developing and implementing corrective and preventive action plans to improve overall ISO compliance and quality results.

-Support other functional areas of the business including Contract Management, Supply Chain, Design, Print Works and Product Development.

-Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system.

-Participate in change review boards and materials qualification needs.

-Manage the qualification of process controls, methods, and measurement systems, promoting the use of Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis techniques.


Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.

-Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing and quality, preferably in a chemical or printing industry.

-Good knowledge of quality systems, technical and manufacturing concepts.

-Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

-GMP experience.

-Must have motivation and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills. Exhibit a positive attitude and initiative.

-Understand the principles and comply with practice of Lean Manufacturing, 5S Methodology, Continuous Improvement, also understanding the dynamics of working in a cross-cultural, multi-site organization.

-Proven ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.

-Expericence of working with LEAN is an advantage.
