JOB DESCRIPTION
Axis is on a journey where software, applications, systems and connected services have an increased business and technical focus to complement our world class product portfolio. As R&D Director for Small and Medium Business Solutions, you are responsible for managing the organization and its management team and to actively contribute to Axis overall journey ahead. You have the overall responsibility and your main tasks will include:

Strategic planning and execution, supporting the commercial and technical roadmap
Active role in developing Axis’ overall software agenda as part of the Software management team, and as the leader of the small and medium solutions organization Setting and delivering on strategic targets Organizational development and recruitment Speaking partner and liaison in strategic and technical discussions towards product management, solutions and service management, product development as well as technology platform organization Influence and optimize internal and external development efficiency Escalation point in operational and project matters
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We believe you have a Master’s degree in computer science (or similar) and documented leadership skills, preferably with experience also from leading a management team with focus on organizational development including a strategic and business oriented agenda around software.

You have experience of agile ways of working and you enjoy networking with people in different positions and departments. You lead by example and you’re passionate about software development. You are a person who enjoys taking responsibility and you excel at motivating and encouraging the people you work with.

We also believe you have a genuine interest and talent in leading people and organizations with a business and end user oriented mindset. It is important for you to know and understand our market, your employees, and you will do whatever it takes to make their situation as good as possible while still getting the most out of your organization. You find it easy to interact with individuals as well as organizations, and can negotiate when needed. You combine the skill of listening with the skill of deciding, and can find a good balance in between the two

Experience from working with end-user applications, complete systems, cross functional develop teams, managed services, desktop and mobile applications is a plus.

Small and Medium Solutions Unit
The Small and Medium Solutions unit is part of the Software organization at Axis R&D. It is responsible for developing, releasing and supporting complete end customer solutions and systems where unique applications for the business areas are developed within the organization and integrated with products and services developed and maintained in other departments. The overall responsibility for the complete integrated solutions and end user experience lie within the Small and Medium organization so it plays the key role in integrating, providing, updating and supporting complete solutions to Axis customers and end users. Today the organization consists of four engineering teams focusing on small solutions and applications, medium solutions and applications, mobile applications and applications solutions/web tools.

Since the organization is responsible for complete solutions and systems it works closely with other parts of the R&D organization, both other teams working with products, connected cloud services and the firmware platform used in Axis product portfolio. It has a leading role in implementing and taking complete solutions and systems to market, establishing end user oriented understanding and projects, and improving our ways of working in relation to this.
