R&D Project Manager

You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems. We offer you an important and challenging opportunity to run and be responsible for development of HVDC systems ? visible across all ABB. Your responsibility as R&D Project Manager will be to manage strategically important R&D projects covering a large range of expertise areas within ABB. This includes representing the projects towards the Power Systems management and ABB?s global R&D organization. Not limited to leading project teams, this central position includes participation in steering committees and reference groups of related development projects within ABB, marketing support and close collaboration with external suppliers.

You will build a large network within the unit as well as ABB worldwide, which will provide you with almost unlimited development possibilities.

To suit this important key role we need a driven and inspiring person who can manage large R&D projects in a matrix organization. Combined with several years of work life experience as a project manager or lead engineer, this could be the right opportunity for you. With great leadership and communication skills, as well as your ability to network, you can easily focus on the desired results.

It is a further advantage if you have technical knowledge within plant or converter design, preferably for HVDC system applications. Equally advantageous is experience from development of large and complex infrastructure projects. Excellent language skills in English are required.
