We are now looking for a R&D Senior Mechanical Engineer to our team in Västerås.


We offer you the chance to be a part of a global environment, developing the next generation modularized world class robot platform. Together with an experienced team, you will have a key role in balancing the requirement and the performance of the robot's movable cable harnesses from the early stages of the projects until final launch to the market. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other design engineers where you will contribute with design optimizations and recommendations based on validation results, as well as contribution to development and refinement of design tools and design criteria. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team of experienced manipulator designers.


The role reports to R&D Team Manager within Mechanics.
Your responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with e.g., production, supply and quality departments within the development projects and proposing solutions and optimizations for increased performance.
Conducting or coordinating engineering activities encompassing one or more of the disciplines cable routing, electrical dimensioning, electrical component selection, and validation tests.
Supporting the strategic technology direction and maintaining awareness of state-of-the-art technology and market trends.
Applying scientific theories and technology concepts and new methodologies and technologies to projects and problems.
Providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of tools, processes, and methods within the development and technology projects.
Identifying customer value, developing and implementing creative ideas to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

Your background
B.Sc or M.Sc. in Mechanical/Mechatronic engineering or equivalent.
Solid knowledge of mechanical engineering and deep interest of problem solving with a natural drive.
Experienced with tools like Solid Works or similar.
Minimum 5-6 years of work experience.
Fluent in English is a requirement, written and spoken alike. Swedish is preferable but not a must.
You are a highly self-motivated, curious, driven and collaborative person.
