REACH Coordinator & Chemical Management

Husqvarna Environmental Affairs is responsible for management of environmental matters throughout the Group.

EU REACH legislation came into force 1 June 2007 and includes registration and evaluation of chemical substances.The regulation affects the entire Husqvarna Group's activities and all business units as well as the relationship with suppliers and customers.

Position/Job Description
The REACH Coordinator shall, in collaboration with all business units, develop and maintain effective processes and methods ensuring that Husqvarna complies with the REACH regulation, as well as develop effective relationships with suppliers and customers.The work includes ensuring revision and implementation of Husqvarna's restricted materials list (RML), collection and compilation of relevant chemical data from suppliers, supporting the business units in preparing information to customers on products, ensuring the quality of chemical data, management of Material Safety Data Sheet for our own products etc.

In addition to the above, you may be required to handle special project assignments.Travel, sometimes extensive, will be an integral part of the work.

Essential Duties
1.Monitor new and changing legislation on chemicals, primarily in the EU
2.Set up and manage effective communication with new and existing suppliers on Husqvarna's requirements for chemical substances
3.Develop and maintain a software system for managing chemicals, in collaboration with Husqvarna's Global Information Service
4.Provide input to business units, category and product managers and other stakeholders on the results of chemical inventories
5.Provide support and assistance to the Sales & Service business units in preparing information to customers on products
6.Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets for Husqvarna's own chemical products sold on the global market

Preferred qualifications
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the REACH and other chemical legislation, as well as very good knowledge of business English is mandatory.Working knowledge other European language(s), especially German, is a further merit.You must have a finished academic degree in chemistry from a recognized university.First-hand working knowledge of the most common software office systems and databases is a further requirement.You will be working in a fast-paced and ever-changing business environment and must therefore be adaptable and also be capable of driving change.The ideal candidate has the characteristics of a self-starter, is socially talented, and has a strong drive and a will to perform.The attitude must be operative and hands-on, guided by a drive to see his or her own initiatives being applied in the daily business.
We are looking for an individual who knows how to drive and run a process, capable of establishing good working relationships with colleagues in all areas of the world.
This position will also be required to cooperate with the Group's customers and suppliers.
