Regional Financial Controller -Scandinavia

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who will have the overall responsibility for the finance function in Scandinavia. The primary responsibility relates to reporting, budgets, forecasting, cash flow etc. in line with Group reporting guidelines and governance at the same time as local legal compliance is assured. In this role, you will work closely with and support the regional team with analysis and commercial recommendations.

Most of the bookkeeping is done via outsourcing agencies, and coordinating and controlling these relationships will be a part of the role. The position is located at our office in Stockholm and will involve travelling to Denmark, Norway and the occasional trip to our head office in Bangkok. You will report to our CFO and work in close cooperation with our Head of Nordic Sales and you will be part of a finance team of five.

Could this be you?

We believe that you have extensive experience from a Financial Controller position and complying with the major accounting principles. You have previous experience from auditing, preferably from Big4. You have a strong interest in IT and have advanced technical skills. You are an expert in Excel and you can build complex financial models. To succeed in this role, you need to have a high-energy level at the same time be structured and have a strong eye for accuracy. You work well independently and can set and manage your own priorities.

As our Regional Financial Controller for Scandinavia, you will be responsible for:

Financial controlling -balance sheet review & sign off, monthly reconciliations, explain variations, update and confirm accruals and provisions etc.


Reporting -monthly and quarterly reports, coordination and control of the annual local legal reporting, cash flow projections, tax return filing and TP documentation


Treasury -manage relationship with local banks, manage inter group loans/funding, cash-flow projects etc.


Compliance -secure implementation plus compliance of policies and procedures, coordinate and follow up on external and internal audits, secure local legal compliance


Business Analysis and support -support with pricing, customer, product analysis etc., cost reviews and investment proposals


Systems and procedures -secure compliance e.g. follow group standard chart of accounts, work towards having standard operating procedures and systems in place. Support in development of a central system to support the needs in the Scandinavia region.

We are looking for:

Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience from a Financial Controller position
Experience from audit, preferably from Big4
Experience in accounting and issue recognition (international is a plus)
Experience in building complex financial models to evaluate various financial plans
Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills
Experience from working in an international company
High level of business English – both written and spoken. Nordic language is a plus
CPA and knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
