The IT department's key responsibility is to ensure the ability of Greenpeace Nordic to achieve its goals by being a strategic partner to other departments and provide the right tools, systems and support to ensure staff can operate effectively.

About the role:
The Regional IT Support Officer (RITSO) is the first point of contact for staff and volunteers in the Greenpeace Nordic organization and will be responsible for the provisioning of information technology and provide support and training to all our users. On a day to day basis he/she will be working with computer hardware as well as smart phones, office phone systems, software, printers and other IT related hardware and making sure that work is logged in the asset tracking system. The environment of devices is varied (type of devices and the location of them) and making sure the organization adheres to set policies and procedures is key. The RITSO will also participate in or run IT support development projects with a project management approach depending on the current strategies and should therefore demonstrate the ability to effectively time, cost and plan, execute within set timeline as well as keeping to the agreed budget.

The RITSO role is managed by the Head of IT. The role will be expected to travel to other Nordic offices, be on-site support during Greenpeace activities and participate in International skill shares as agreed with the Head of IT.

About you:
- At least 2-3 years experience with supporting Windows desktops in a small-midsized environment (100-200 users)
- Bachelor?s degree in IT and /or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in procuring desktop hardware and software; ability to make apt recommendations in consultation with staff and managers to find what suit their needs
- Good understanding of DNS, VPN, encryption and client machine security and protection
- Good understanding of physical and wireless networks
- Ability to prioritize when under pressure and circle back when having conflicting priorities
- Ability to work with little supervision, deal with stressful situations and meet deadlines
- Using discretion and maintaining confidentiality are prerequisites
- Ability to train users individually and in groups through presentations and coaching
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and basic network problems to ensure basic remediation steps have been taken before escalating problems to internal or external partners
- Proficiency in the English language, other Nordic language(s) is an advantage.
