We are now looking for a Regional Manager that will run the Nordic Operations function. This is a key role within the organization that aims to develop effective planning and scheduling processes and techniques to ensure the most effective use of our assets and available resources.
The role is an integral part of the cross functional collaboration ensuring alignment between commercial, sales purchasing, transport, logistics and sites. The end game is to deliver an excellent customer experience. You will be crucial to drive developments to enhance the cross functional collaboration and improve the service to our customers.
You will join the team and report to the Operations Director for the Region of UK & Ireland and the Nordics.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for the Nordic Operations function that consists of:
Our five production sites, located in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. They are responsible for production, warehousing and distribution. Each site is run by a site manager that is responsible for the day to day operation.
Our transport and logistic team is located in our offices in Malmö and Copenhagen. The team’s responsibility is to coordinate our physical and transactional flow with our 3PL providers as well as coordinate our in- and outbound logistic flows. This involves both our Chemical-, and Lubricant products. The team is run by a transport manager that is responsible for the day to day operation.
Under your responsibility there are other functions; CAPEX and technical projects Installations, and a function working with process development and improvements throughout the supply chain. In addition to this there is also local logistic procurement.
The organization consists of about 60 co-workers. Your main responsibilities will be to focus on leadership, safety, service, costs, productivity and process development. Further additional responsibilities are, but not limited to:
You will
Meet the annual operating budget
Knowledge in SEVESO and managing the handling of hazardous materials
Lead the team by example and demonstrating leadership behaviors that encourage empowerment and continuous improvement throughout all operational activities.
Deliver targeted customer service levels to enable commercial growth
Identify capital expenditure opportunities that makes us more efficient and more technologically advanced.
ensure that customer expectations are exceeded through service level agreements
ensure that we develop talent within the business to help fully realize their potential
The achievement of zero accidents associated with all Health & Safety issues
Ensure full compliance to both internal and external legislative process.
Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Drive continuously improvement projects cross functions


We are looking for
You have an academic degree in logistics, engineering, industrial economics or equivalent, and you have an experience within chemical material handling and logistics. Furthermore, you are analytical, have good problem-solving skills and knowledge about advanced planning setups. You have previously worked with change management; you can easily see new solutions and you are driven by creating efficient working methods.
Someone who can understand the commercial needs of the business and leverage operations in a way that enables us to be more efficient and offer a robust service offering
You have successful management experience as a coach and a clear leader who delegates and gives your employees great responsibility. You are a communicator and you can present and push through ideas and decisions in a convincing and humble way. You enjoy being in a dynamic environment.
Being a Nordic role in a European organization, it is an advantage if you have experience in building networks remotely. The role will also require that you travel between the entities. We are part of Univar Solutions EMEA, we assume that you have good language skills in both one of the Scandinavian languages and English, both in speech and in writing.
