Titel: Regional Security Technician

Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter:
Conducts inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of unclassified technical security equipment and devices.Studies and make recommendations for ways to improve the effectiveness of the security systems at U.S.Government posts in the Stockholm region including Oslo and Copenhagen.

Beskrivning av kvalifikationer:
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

a. Education
Completion of three years diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical engineering or engineering technology from a reputed institution.

b. Prior Work Experience
At least five years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, closed circuit television, alarm systems, public address and vehicle arrest systems.

c.Post Entry Training
Will be provided by supervisor.

d. Language Proficiency:
Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Swedish is required.
Level 3 (Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.

e. Knowledge
Should have initiative and good knowledge of power systems, use of all kinds of test equipment and should be able to trouble shoot and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment.
Awareness of general responsibilities of Mission agencies/offices outside of the ESO section.

f. Skills and Abilities
Must be able to apply knowledge of above in the installation and maintenance of Security equipment.Must be able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams of electrical and mechanical drawings, minor adjustments and repairs. Ability to use electronic test equipment.Should be able to use his knowledge and skills to rectify problems associated with security equipment independently.Must be able to drive a manual transmission car.
Interpersonal skills: ability to present a friendly, helpful, patient and caring impression to customers; ability to talk and related to U.S.and Swedish personnel from a variety of backgrounds and Mission offices; ability to be firm but tactful when explaining policy or limitations on resources.
Conflict management; ability to deal with upset or difficult clients while keeping own temper/composure; ability to assure upset/angry clients that their concerns will be addressed while not promising actions/results that are inconsistent with Mission practices; ability to employ a problem-solving approach to difficult issues rather than assigning blame responding with a flat "no"; ability to maintain objectivity in difficult situations.
Ability to use MS Excel, Access and Word software and Internet search engines.
Must have local Swedish B*** drivers license.
