Research and development scientist

Bioimics is a Swedish biotechnology company focusing on development of novel antibacterial compounds, ribozyme inhibitors, for the treatment of Healthcare Associated Infections.

Bioimics is looking for a research and development scientist. This individual will serve as a key contributor to the early development of novel antibiotic compounds targeting RNA molecules. Responsibilities include 1) testing of compounds in biological assays (in vitro and in vivo assays), 2) evaluation of data and 3) authoring company reports.

The position requires a PhD exam in the broad areas of biochemistry/ molecular biology/ microbiology. Knowledge and experience in performing quantitative enzymatic assays, molecular cloning and purification of recombinant proteins, enzymatic RNA synthesis, bacterial growth characterizations and testing of compounds in enzymatic assays are crucial. An understanding of early drug development is meriting. Excellent scientific writing skills are required.
