The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. Duties
Statistical analysis of clinical and epidemiological data using a range of study designs and statistical models; strong competence in the use of statistical software and the development of software tools for epidemiologists in Stata and R.

The methodological work will be conducted in parallel with various applications in disease epidemiology, using real world data from national registers and publicly-available datasets.

Entry requirements:
Educational background
MSc or PhD in statistics or biostatistics, with methodological and computational components.

Experience and knowledge:
A broad knowledge of observational study designs and the common statistical models used in their analysis; experience of different data sources/structures in areas of health and clinical research; skills in using statistical software.

Personal Characteristics
Well-informed and curious concerning medical research, particularly epidemiology, public health, and statistical reasoning; commitment to learning new skills; ability to collaborate/communicate with researchers in various disciplines.

Preference will be given to applicants who are available to start work from November 2018.
