AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry in Stenungsund, Sweden is expanding its Research, Development and Innovation center (RD&I) and are recruiting several Chemists to work within the Personal Care & Hair Styling segments.

In your role as Research Chemist/Chemist you will perform technical support to customers and conduct experimental work contributing to new or improved products and processes according to the strategy of Surface Chemistry.

In the role as Research Chemist/Chemist Personal Care & Hair Styling you will be responsible for:

• Planning and performing experimental work, interpretation and reporting of results
• Supporting sales people and customers, participating in presentations, seminars and trainings
• Handling tech service investigations and (small) projects
• Maintaining interaction with internal and external customers as well as counterparts at other locations
• Maintaining and developing expertise in core technology
We also believe that you will actively contribute to the safety and order in the lab and have a strong focus on the Health, Safety and Environment questions.

Qualification: We are looking for individuals with a M.Sc. in chemistry, biology, pharmacy or cosmetic science and relevant working experience and practical skills in formulation of Personal Care & Hair Styling products. Understanding of functions of ingredients and materials in personal care applications and products are required for this role. In addition, we believe you have experience in technical service and good project management skills.

On a personal level you are proactive and able to prioritize and enjoy working towards continuous improvements. You have good communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent English, both written and spoken. Additional language like Swedish and German or French is an advantage. Personal skills will be emphasized in the selection process.
