Department of Forest Products in Uppsala 1 Research student (2 years) in the research education subject: Forest Policy Forest sector and bio-energy policy: the perception of integration Policy integration can be understood as the process and output of policy coordination of different policy areas in regards to a common subject.The lack of policy integration results in low efficiency and legitimacy of policies.Forestry is a typical branch with marked increase of inter-sectoral relationships, such as environmental, agriculture, climate or energy policies.Thus, the integration of relevant sector policies is essential in order to achieve a stable and sustainable forest policy in the future.The applicant of the licentiate/PhD position will evaluate the perception of the forest sector and the broader public in regards to the integration of bio-energy policy.This will be done by analyzing professional journals of different sectors as well as nationwide quality newspapers.Both analyses will be accomplished in comparative means for Sweden and Germany.A stakeholder discussion will be embedded in the research process.The project is part of the project Future Forest: sustainable strategies under uncertainties and risk.Employment as licentiate/PhD student for two years.Prolongation of the position for two years is expected depending on financing.Qualifications The suitable candidate must have a degree in forestry, environmental science or political science.More advanced knowledge in the following subjects will be regarded as additional qualifications: forest policy, communication and media analysis.Excellent skills in Swedish are required.Language skills in German and English are necessary.The candidate should have the ability to work independently as well in a team and have a deep interest in applying social scientific questions to the forest policy area.Forms for funding or employment Employment as Research student 2 years SLU is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
