Project description 
This research position will primarily conduct research within the various research projects of the SWEMARC Center and the research group Fish Edocrinology Laboratory. SWEMARC is one of the University of Gothenburg's six strong interdisciplinary research centers that conducts research on the global societal challenges. SWEMARC hosts over 50 researchers and technicians from four faculties and eight departments /centers at the University of Gothenburg. 

SWEMARC's main goal is to conduct research that: 


• generates new knowledge about sustainable production of nutritious food from the sea
• works for a positive integration of aquaculture with local communities and coastal activities
• works for a resource-efficient production characterized by circular flows of nutrients and marine raw materials
• isinterdisciplinary between social sciences, economics, law, oceanography, biology and design and has transdisciplinary collaboration with industry, authorities and the general public. 

Job assignments 
The employment includes all aspects of research into aquaculture techniques and biology and nutrition with focus on marine fish and shellfish species. The work includes experimental design, sampling and analysis, statistical analyses, interpretation of results and writing of articles for scientific journals. The employment may also include routine aspects of animal husbandry, as well as technical review. The applicant is expected to be independent and able to take own initiatives within the framework of the project. 

The applicant is expected to present scientific and popular scientific results at conferences, seminars, project meetings as well as in reports. As a member of SWEMARC, the applicant is expected to participate in the Center's activities and to communicate and collaborate with other members of SWEMARC and national and international colleagues. Practical supervision of doctoral students is included. Supervision and teaching and/or course leading at bachelor's and master's level are also included, at approx. 10% of full position. Shorter work periods in other laboratories or other countries may be included.
