Grand Circle Cruise Lines is the Leader in Small Ship and River Cruising Worldwide
With the launch of our new 98 Passenger all-suite small ship, we are looking for experienced Tour Managers Program Directors for our UK European season in the British Isles, Spain, Portugal, Scandinavia, France and the Baltics
What we require:
Passion for the people, country, culture and traditions of the region you live in
Well-travelled with guiding experience in one or more areas we will operate in
Prior ship experience an advantage but not essential
Good overview and knowledge of the history and culture of your area
Ability to relate well to the mature American traveler.
Ability to share life experiences, and a willingness to discuss controversial topics with guests
Ability to learn, try new things and go outside of your comfort zone
Flexible, teamwork, leadership and organizational skill
An excellent command of English
Nationals or residents of UK Europe/Scandinavia with full permission to work

Working responsibilities include:
Compiling and delivering onboard briefings on the history, culture and highlights of the ports, towns/cities and countries we visit
Providing commentary and informative talks on points of interest during off-ship activities
Providing guided walks and identifying and leading groups to off-the-beaten track locations
Ensuring guests are exposed to many learning and discovery opportunities, including home visits and exposure to local cuisine.
Ensuring our Inner Circle (past) guests and female solo travelers receive exceptional recognition
Reconfirming hotels, transportations, local guides etc.
Selling of optional excursions
Dealing with emergency situations in a professional and responsive manner

Please outline your travel experience in the region and why you feel you would make an excellent Program Director. Only successful applicants will be contacted for a group interview. Group interview will be held in August 2014. This will be followed by a training session onboard the ship in early November. To be considered, applicants must be available for the Group Interview, Training and Dry-runs which will take place early in 2015. Applications close 15th August 2014.
