Two Consultant Assignments as Upstream Scientist

We are looking for 2 candidates for a 5 months consultant assignment, with start in the middle of August. During this assignment you will have a position as Upstream Scientist in the Expression and Upstream Development section at Sobi.

Expression and Upstream Development is a section responsible for

• Processability
• Expression systems and cell banks
• Upstream drug substance process development
• Midstream drug substance process development.


The right candidate

• Shares the deep interest in cultivation processes in bioreactors (0.5-15 L scale) as the rest of the team. The main task will be to develop E. coli and CHO cell based processes for the production of recombinant proteins (candidate drugs).
• Has an interest in the entire biopharmaceutical manufacturing process (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control, CMC). The individual contribution to the development of the future biopharmaceutical processes is highly encouraged in our cross-functional teams.
• Values collaboration, accountability, respect, and engagement.


Main Responsibilities:

• The development of cultivation processes in bioreactor scale up to 15 L for production of biopharmaceuticals
• Planning, performing, evaluating and documenting experiments with the project team
• Scaling up to internal manufacturing site.
Qualifications and Experience:

• M.Sc or B.Sc in Biotechnology or related area
• Practical experience of bioreactors
• Fluent in both oral and written English.
• Practical experience of cell culture passaging in shake flasks and wave is a merit.
• Practical experience of midstream process technologies (e.g filtration, centrifugation) is a merit.
