The department Biopharmaceuticals R&D is growing and looking for new scientists. The main focus for the department is development of drug substance and drug product. It also supports projects through the value chain from preclinical to product support and Life Cycle Management.

Expression and Upstream Development is a section within Biopharmaceuticals R&D responsible for development of stable expression systems and robust cultivation processes for scale-up purposes. The section work with both mammalian and microbial cells. The team is highly experienced and the environment is very collaborative.

Your work tasks will be:

• Develop, optimize and scale-up microbial upstream processes in reactor scale to progress projects from early to late development.
• Lead project sub-teams within your field as required.
• Develop project plans and strategies with project and line
• Communicate between project, project sub-team, and line management
• Write, review, and approve technical reports and documentation for regulatory submissions
• Support scale-up of processes to GMP site (internal/external)
• Development and maintenance of expertise within microbial process development.
• Practical experience of expression systems is a merit.


Qualifications:

• At least M.Sc in Biotechnology or related area with significant relevant experience in an R&D environment. Lic. or Ph.D. is a merit.
• 2 years of relevant industrial experience
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of development, optimization and scale-up of microbial processes.
• Able to write publishable technical reports. Experience of writing regulatory submissions is a merit.
• Fluent in both oral and written English. Swedish fluency is a merit.
• Knowledge of midstream technologies is a merit
• Practical experience of mammalian process development in reactor scale and/or molecular biology are merits.

You are willing to work outside usual office hours (week-ends, early morning or late night) as agreed with line manager.
