Senior backend web developer

About the role

Saltside Technologies is looking for a senior Backend Developer to join our development team in Gothenburg. You will be working in a small, dedicated platform team, developing backend architecture and services. Our platform consists of several small API?s that our frontend developers use, so teamwork and communication is key.

Saltside Technologies develops and operates websites in emerging markets, with focus set on online classified sites. Currently Saltside operates the top classified sites in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ghana, and we also operate in Pakistan.

About you

Required
- You have a true passion for building great software and solid API?s
- You have a drive to constantly learn and grown as a software developer
- Strong experience designing and building SOA?s and server side API?s
- Experience programming in Ruby outside of Rails
- You have experience working with NoSQL, like MongoDB
- You have a habit of writing unit test for all your code using TDD

Meriting
- You are fanatic about measuring and monitoring everything you build
- Full text search services, like ElasticSearch
- You have experience with message queues like AMQP
- Strong Linux command line skills
- You are familiar with Ruby on rails and Sinatra
- Knowledge of AWS and virtualization
- You regularly contribute to open source projects
- You have excellent command of the English language, written and spoken
