You will be a part of ABB Measurements and Analytics in Västerås, which is a busi-ness unit within the Process Automation Business. We develop and provide a com-prehensive range of force and measurement products designed to improve control, productivity, and quality in a wide variety of processes and industries. Our unique basic technology principles are well suited for harsh environments, which has provid-ed us with a long track record of satisfied customers. We are world leading within these business areas segments with a large market share over the world.


We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in technology and eager to grow your skills in control and optimization applications in the process industry. You will get the change to build a deeper knowledge about the rolling mill processes in the metal industry and support our customers in achieving superior quality with minimum environmental impact. As one of our future experts, you will play a key role in delivering and propagating the knowledge about our products and solutions worldwide.


You will be part of the Service and Support team in Västerås. We are located in the same premises as our R&D, Operations, Sales and Product Management which makes collaboration across functions easier.
This position reports to
Service & Support Manager
Your responsibilities
You will commission and service measurement and /or control application for our products worldwide. Most of our assignments are related to flatness measurement and control, but you will also work with dimension and force measurement applications.
You are expected to travel a minimum of 100-120 days, in other words 50-60% of your working time, in periods of 2-5weeks.
You will need to conduct risk and opportunity assessments before and during your site visits.
You will provide remote technical support during office hours when you are not on commissioning or service and participate in our product and process development activities.
We are also responsible for providing training of our products both on site and classroom trainings in Västerås, therefore you will be active building up our global competence in our products and customer applications.

Your background
You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering with a major in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or similar; alternatively, you have gained equivalent competence through work experience.
Experience of work at site, in commissioning and/or maintenance.
Previous experience in control (DCS, PLC) or measurement systems in the process industry, and a good understanding on control methodology is an advantage.
As a person you are an innate problem solver with business acumen and strong interpersonal skills.
You are flexible and thrive from having the benefit of frequent travels in your work.
Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory. Swedish, and other languages are not mandatory but beneficial.
