To support the vision and further reinforce our position as a major global player, we are restructuring our commercial business by consolidating TSM Americas, TSM APAC and TSM EMEA into one common organisation, Volvo Group Trucks Sales. The change opens for strengthened retail excellence and closeness to the customer, empowerment of the front line organisation, increased speed and cost efficiency.
The new GTS organisation will be effective as of January 1, 2015 and covers seven sales regions worldwide.
To join the GTS Headquarters, we are posting the position as: Senior Compliance Counsel

The Sr Compliance Counsel will have the overall responsibility for the performance of the Compliance function within the GTS organization. Responsibilities include providing proactive guidance and support relating directly to Compliance, identifying and mitigating Compliance risks, and ensuring that our business activities comply with relevant laws and regulations as well as internal Compliance processes and policies. In your role, you will work closely with the seven regional management and legal teams in GTS, with Joint Company legal teams, with AB Volvo Corporate Compliance personnel, and with a wide range of other functions and businesses in GTS.
The position reports to the SVP Legal and is a member of the GTS Legal functional team. The position is located in Gothenburg.

Main activities and responsibilities:
Anticipate, evaluate and advise GTS EMT regarding any material compliance risks, wherever located, including how to mitigate such risks;
Provide day-to-day compliance advice to GTS HQ personnel and management in the seven GTS sales regions;
Together with AB Volvo Corporate Compliance, manage investigations related to GTS Compliance issues on a global basis;
Develop and implement an efficient and robust GTS Compliance network from existing GTS regional legal and compliance personnel, and in full partnership with AB Volvo Corporate Compliance;
Manage and drive the implementation of the Volvo Group Compliance Programmes throughout GTS;
Develop and implement sound Compliance reporting processes from the GTS regional compliance personnel, in harmony with AB Volvo Corporate Compliance policies and directives;
When required, provide Compliance training to GTS employees.

Profile
The role requires a law degree, proven legal and compliance leadership skills, and at least 7-10 years of in-house experience at an international company, as well as a proven track record of achievements in the area of Compliance.

Key requirements:
Experience advising a complex business, with significant Compliance experience required.
Strong personal credibility, integrity, and managerial courage, comfortable providing advice to senior management.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to network effectively internally and externally across functions and geographies.
Good business and financial awareness and ability to maintain and communicate compliance and legal principles in a business environment.
High proficiency in written and spoken English.
