About the position:

ELITS is now searching to fill a permanent position for a Database administrator in Karlskrona. As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for the operation, function, development and quality of the DBA service that ELITS operates. You will handle incidents, problems and change work in the Oracle, Postgres or MySQL systems at our customer.

The tasks are divided to both individual and work in projects. You will be a part of a team spans across several sites in Sweden, Germany, China, USA and Canada. Work during weekends may occur.

Your main working areas will be:

- DB environment monitoring: backup verification, performance monitoring, availability monitoring, proactive fixes as required
- DB creation/archiving/removal upon request
- Production of monthly statistics: usage, capacity, availability, failures, corrections plan for next month
- DB restore upon request
- Propose DB design for migration projects / requests for new environment
- Evaluate updates/upgrades of the technologies, recommend and plan upgrades

Qualifications:

You are expected to have three years working experience as a database administrator, preferably in large enterprise organizations. You have experience working with incidents, problems, IT orders, requests, changes and releases and are excellent in English. Experience of ITIL is an advantage.

It is important that you can handle critical server solutions, and at the same time have a professional attitude, be able to organize your tasks and handle stressful situations. As an operation technician you should have a great interest in technology, be motivated by complex assignments, have the ability to visualize the customer needs and strong trouble shooting skills.

You can easily co-operate with customers, suppliers and colleagues to maintain a high standard and a quality delivery to our customers. At the same time you have the ability to work independently.
