Senior Engineer Operational Excellence

In sBU Ethylene Amines we produce and market ethanol- and ethylene amines used in the manufacture of products such as cleaners, polymers, paints, paper chemicals, chelates and pharmaceuticals. We are the leader in the ethylene amines industry and our ability to compete is to a high extent based on technology leadership. In Stenungsund we have one of the world?s largest and most modern production sites of its kind, which makes us a reliable supplier to our customers. To cater for our Asian customers? increasing demand for ethylene amines, we recently opened production facilities in Ningbo, China. With these two manufacturing sites we are a global leader in the ethylene amines business.

Responsibilities
Our Senior Process Engineer is pursuing new challenges outside AkzoNobel and we are now looking for his successor.

The Senior Engineer Operational Excellence function in the HSE & Process Technology department. supports the Functional Chemicals Stenungsund site by providing expertise in chemical engineering and continuous improvements. The function is vital in our strive to minimize operational costs and to improve our HSE and sustainability performance towards Manufacturing Operational Excellence.

Main tasks and responsibilities are:

-Responsibility for process and technology development at the ethylene amines plant and ethylene oxide plant.
-Lead and drive continuous process improvements by utilizing suitable methods and tools such as Lean and Six Sigma.
-Lead HSEE&S (Health, Safety, Environment, Energy & Security) activities such as risk analyzes, hazard studies, root cause analysis, and management of change.
-Lead equipment related improvement projects and technical troubleshooting.
-Act as internal expert on process control, computer aided process simulations and process optimization.

To be successful in this position you should have a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and several years of experience working in the field of process engineering, technology or manufacturing. Experience of analyzing and evaluating complex process technology issues from a technical as well as an economic point of view. Good communicational skills, both written and verbal, in english and preferably swedish. Internationally oriented and opened to support our manufacturing unit in Ningbo if required. As a person you are entrepreneurial and curious, responsible and result oriented. Experience and knowledge in lean six sigma is preferred but not necessary.
