We are looking for a new faculty member focusing on management of R&D and innovation at the level of Senior Lecturer. This position intends to strengthen the research and teaching with a focus on renewal and management of R&D and innovation activities. 

Information about the research
The position will be placed at the Division of Innovation and R&D Management at the Department of Technology Management and Economics. The research at the Division of Innovation and R&D Management focuses on organizing and managing Innovation and R&D activities in large, established organizations. The research is undertaken in collaboration with both private and public organizations. Projects in R&D settings are becoming increasingly complex to manage, and often include so much uncertainty that they are not possible to plan in detail before they start. In addition, many organizations are facing large challenges, such as increased focus on innovation, sustainability, digitalization, design thinking etc. These challenges – often implying challenges in terms of doing things differently - call for change and development of new innovative ways of working and organizational redesign, as well as strategic reconsiderations.

Major responsibilities
This position includes developing, managing and teaching courses at all levels and in life-long learning, although with an emphasis on different project management courses on the Master's level. The position also includes conducting empirical research of high international quality within management of R&D and innovation, and to communicate scientific results to the public and industry as well as through scientific publications. The teaching will be in courses including basic project management concepts (such as project planning, project models and organization) as well as the social aspect of project management, such as leading and participating in projects in an increasingly challenging environment. The position also includes supervising students in projects and master thesis work and assisting in supervision of doctoral students. As a senior lecturer and faculty member, you are expected to participates in development of the research group at the division, its networks within academia as well as with industry. You are also expected to contribute in the work of applying for external research funding.

Qualifications
You should have a Ph.D. degree within management of R&D or innovation, together with a strong and distinct specialty, and a demonstrated ability to conduct research by publications in highly ranked journals relevant to the field. We look for a candidate who can contribute to our existing research focus as well as develop new areas, and who has proven experience from collaboration with external stakeholders. You should have demonstrated experience from teaching in courses relevant to this position and must have substantial and well-documented pedagogical experience. We consider research and pedagogical merits as equally important. Thus, aside from the research profile and merits, we will put emphasis on the pedagogical portfolio. The applicant should have completed (or be able to complete within two years of an appointment) courses in teaching and learning in higher education (15 higher education credits).

The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English. If Swedish is not your native language, you are encouraged to learn basic Swedish within a few years. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.

Meritorious qualifications for the position:
• Participation in international research networks within the subject area
• A demonstrated ability to attract external research funding
• Active engagement in the wider research community (e.g. experience from acting as reviewer for journals, arranging conferences and workshops, etc.).
