How will you make an impact?
Would you like to contribute to world class allergy solutions and work with innovative systems?
In this role you will get the chance to help our customers around the world in their work to diagnose allergy and autoimmune diseases. Furthermore, you would have the opportunity to take a lead in various activities and projects related to technical expertise but also in the work related to design control and development models.
The Instrument & Consumables team is responsible for designing the hardware or sub-systems of the small size instrument system as well as all consumables used in the Phadia systems. This involves work in various design systems and cross-functional collaboration with other departments as well as external contractors during updates of the current system or development of new systems. The unit consists of 14 team members in total, an innovative multi-disciplinary team with good collaboration.
What will you do?
In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work with the development of mechanical components and systems in various materials such as stainless steel, aluminum as well as hard and soft plastics that are formed with machining or molding tools. The systems also contain finished components such as pumps, tubes and motors. You will work with specification, design and testing of mechanical components and modules throughout the product life cycle from new products to troubleshooting and improvement of existing products. In practice, your role will include:
• Planning and leading smaller development teams within R&D as design leader and design reviewer
• 3D CAD of components, modules and systems for new and updated instruments
• Testing of prototype versions of mechanical components, modules and systems
• Troubleshooting designs and products that do not meet the quality and performance requirements
How will you get there?
University degree in relevant field and several years of experience in the development of mechanics and preferably fluidics within life science or medical technology company.
Readiness to take a leading role in different activities and projects.
As the role requires a deep technical knowledge, you need to have previous experience from several different design disciplines in the field of mechanical engineering.Experience in plastic design is valuable.
Experience from working with instrument systems for laboratory use is valuable.
