About the job
You will be the Senior Process Engineer, responsible for creating and executing the Industrialization Strategy of our newest generation of batteries, bringing it from the laboratory to mass production. This role will require deep knowledge in mechanical manufacturing technologies, process development and factory design. At the same time, you need to optimize the new manufacturing setup for optimal cost, minimized time to market and using available technologies and knowledge. You will be responsible for deciding how, where, when, with whom and for how much we will industrialize our newest generation of batteries.
On a day-to-day basis you will be very close with the engineering team and relevant partners and suppliers to develop the best path towards market introduction and identify and resolve blockers and risks. This means driving and owning your work in a cross-functional, fast-paced and project-based environment. As this job requires working very tightly with different cross-functional team as well as reporting to the Northvolt management, you need to be a great communicator.
You are expected to be very creative in finding solutions to push both yourself and your colleagues from various teams to ensure progress is made in the project. You need to be up to speed on constantly changing circumstances and evaluate proposed solutions from different stakeholders perspectives, making non-biased decisions that are the most beneficial overall.
About the team
You will join a fairly new effort and thus a small but dedicated team which will grow with the progress of this project. This role gives you the opportunity to be part of an exciting new project from the beginning and allows you to grow and take on additional responsibility fast. The team includes cell design engineers, material engineers, supply chain experts and technical project managers, however, this project requires cross-functional contribution across the entire organization which will be one of the main responsibilities of this role. In this position, you will join a passionate team that is driven by creating an even more sustainable product which will make a significant impact for Northvolt and the transition towards a greener future.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for time, cost and scope of Northvolt’s next industrialization footprint
Adjust our blueprint to the needs of next-gen batteries with support of in-house experts
Initiate and finalize site selection for the next factory
Create and manage the operating model and business case of our next factory
Develop and manage process specifications, technical documentation and facility requirements
Lead the project management work and coordinate gate reviews
Prepare and validate manufacturing processes for giga-scale production
Implement and support standardized process for industrialization.

We believe that you have:
A technical BSc/MSc degree such as Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
4+ years working experience in Project Management and interdisciplinary setups
Excellent English written and oral skills
Successful track record of leading process improvement projects in a factory
Experience from building and scaling production in a fast-growing environment ideally in the Battery, Automotive, Food, Pharma, Paper & Pulp, Semiconductor, Electrochemical or similar industry.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
Highly organized and result-driven
People-person and ability to build strong relationships
Ability to drive work independently and in a team environment to deliver results
Can-do attitude and “not afraid to get hands dirty”

Bonus points for:
Experience from a multi-cultural environment
Swedish is a plus, but not required
