The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several units that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.



Division
The candidate will be working in the Rheumatology division at the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM, https://www.

cmm.ki.se/), Solna. The Rheumatology unit consists of several research groups where basic and clinical research is performed. In particular, a strong translational research tradition between the clinic and the research laboratory exists at CMM.

Research group
The cellular immunology group is led by Professor Vivianne Malmström (https://www.cmm.ki.se/vivianne-malmstrom-team). Research is focused on understanding the contribution of T and B-lymphocytes in rheumatic diseases.

Duties
We seek a senior researcher with a scientific track record on CD4+ T cell research. The candidate will study CD4+ T-cell function in the context of Rheumatoid Arthritis using e.g. single cell technologies. Duties also include teaching activities to graduate and post-graduate students.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.
The applicant should have:

- Previous post-doctoral experience in the field of T-cell Immunology
- Good experience in human CD4+ T cell research validated by published tracked record in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in the field of human autoimmune disease and translational research
- Previous experience with monitoring of antigen specific T cell response
- Experience in teaching and monitoring students.
- Previous experience with cell biology and/or single cell biology techniques is a plus
- Previous experiences of collaborative work with national and international research groups.
