Senior Sensor data fusion SW Engineer

The Safety function development group within Global Technology Area (GTA) Vehicle Electronics is responsible for developing world class active safety solutions for Volvo truck brands globally to support the goal of zero accidents with Volvo Group products.

The Safety function development group are responsible for the following development activities:
?sensor development, sourcing and integration
?complete E2E (End-to-End) function development
?sensor data fusion development
?software development

The close cooperation between the different competences within Safety function development is a key contributor to knowledge sharing, short development loops and in the end a successful product.

You will become part of a team of highly skilled engineers and researchers working in the area of active safety algorithm and SW development. The SW development is mainly done using model based design tools with code generation but also text based coding e.g. in C. You will be participating in both product development and research projects and we are currently in a very exciting phase moving further in the direction of advanced active safety functions and automated driving.

Senior Sensor data fusion SW Engineer

Core Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to deliver a state-of-the-art sensor fusion platform to meet both the demands of production and research projects. You will be working closely with the sensor and signal processing experts to develop new algorithms and efficient SW implementations.

Other responsibilities, depending on your knowledge and interest, are:
?Create efficient design patterns and SW processes in cooperation with embedded SW integration team.
?Function and SW development of active safety functions.
?Support suppliers and development teams with know-how

Required Qualifications
?Master of Science degree in Mechatronics, Computer science, Engineering Physics, Electrical engineering or equivalent.
?At least 5 years of product development experience within embedded SW development and signal processing or control algorithms.
?At least 3 years working experience of model based SW development in Simulink
?Previous experience in recursive filtering and state estimation
?Driver license B

Meriting Qualifications
?PhD in relevant area
?Experience of building vehicle dynamics models, especially of trucks, or similar systems such as robotics
?Experience from active safety sensors
?Experience from agile organizations
?Experience from continuous integration
?Experience from tools like Jenkins, ClearCase, GIT, ClearQuest, Jira
?Experience from (script) languages as python and/or Java compatible languages
