Senior Strategy Manager - Sandvik Machining Solutions

Your responsibility
You drive highly prioritized strategic initiatives and deliver well-grounded insights and clear execution direction. Acting as a project manager, you lead project teams and work closely with our divisions and functional management. You play an active part in driving our mindset and orientation change towards growth. Included in your mission is to:
Lead business area-wide strategic initiatives, and business and segment strategy development.
Enhance our market and competitor understanding by combining our organization’s experience, business intelligence capability and customer understanding into analytically crisp situation and trend analyses and benchmarking.
Provide a strategic foundation for M&A initiatives by developing the underlying industrial logic, describing value drivers and quantifying potentials.
Help define and scale up new business models leveraging digital technologies and our extensive expertise.
Draw conclusions on business implications, strategic choices and areas of action.
Help operationalize strategy into concrete initiatives and decision-ready proposals, including business cases and execution roadmaps.
Help prepare execution plans, draft actions, milestones and targets, and track effective execution as well as top- and bottom-line impact of the strategy.
Prepare strategy reviews from division to Board level.
Lead and motivate project teams and contributors from SMS’ divisions and other functions through open and effective collaboration.
Develop the ways of working, co-operation models, methods and tools related to strategy and business development at SMS level and across divisions.

You report directly to the VP of Strategy and Business Development at SMS. The location for this role is flexible, although presence at our site in Stockholm or Sandviken is encouraged. International travel is included.
You…
…hold a relevant degree such as an MSc in Business or Engineering, or MBA, combined with extensive experience of working with strategy and business development at a leading consulting firm or industrial company – where you’ve developed a solid strategy and analytics toolkit for yourself. Your experience includes a track record of successfully leading complex, analytically and conceptually demanding strategy projects under tight time constraints as well as effectively collaborating with, motivating and leading teams in multi-cultural and cross-functional settings. It’s a plus if you have an understanding of the manufacturing and industrial sectors, and a familiarity with developing digital businesses. As we operate in a global organization you need excellent English skills, both verbally and written, while other language skills, especially Swedish, are advantageous.
As a self-starter and initiative taker, you’re not afraid of breaking new ground and you have the ability to quickly move between the big picture, the details and the concrete actions. You’re a true team player with respect for people, driven by succeeding together, and you put the common best interest first. With excellent communication skills and a strong sense of integrity, you achieve trust and results through openness and fair play.
