Packaging Management Operations is a completely new function within the department Material Planning & Logistics Europe (MP&L). The Packaging Management Operations team is responsible for providing standard and special returnable packaging to suppliers and all users within Volvo Cars. We are currently looking for a Service Provider Manager. In the role you will be part of starting up/implementing the new function. You will be responsible to manage the relationship with the service providers involved in the packaging operations, to ensure delivery of performance and cost. This includes transports, terminal handling, re-bundling and maintenance of packaging. Volvo Car's packaging terminals are located in Gothenburg, Gent, Torslanda, Skövde and Olofström why this position will include a fair deal of travelling. Initially the position must be based in Gothenburg, but eventually the position can also be located at the other plants of Volvo Cars.

Main responsibilities

* Follow-up and secure that service providers are delivering according to defined objectives and KPIs (throughput demand, correct shipping, damages of packaging, stock deviations, pick-up and delivery precision, cost and efficiency)
* Monitor and develop the process continuously to increase efficiency, quality and service to the users of packaging (correct bundling, cleaning and maintenance of packaging, correct booking and stock keeping, store and handle packaging according to Volvo Cars demands and to safety and environmental regulations)
* On-site visits at service providers
* Support to Purchasing in the RFQ process and continuous supplier development
* Use escalation to management and Purchasing when needed
* Cost control, forecasting and budget for the area of responsibility

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent within supply chain
* Ability to recognise both the strategic and operational issues
* Experience from production and supply chain
* Commercial experience
* Experience from managing process development or project management
* Willingness to travel
* Fluent in written and spoken English
