Position Description
The Powertrain Development Feature and Testing group is part of the Global Powertrain Development department that consists of Engine and Eats, Powertrain Installation, Driveline and Retardation groups.
The Powertrain Development Feature and Testing group is based in Gothenburg but supports all global activities within our responsibility. We are in total 26 people in the team today.
Within the team we have global feature ownership for fuel economy, drivability, noise, performance as well as verification responsibility for complete powertrain and brake related functions, features and PAA.
We are now looking for a simulation engineer. In this role you will work in close cooperation with our feature owners for evaluation of concepts towards requirements, as well as with the verification engineers to perform calculated verifications and validate new simulation models.
Responsibilities:
Plan, Perform and evaluate simulations
Write engineering reports
Develop methods and models in simulation area
Communicate simulation results
Perform cost and time estimations for jobs
Represent VBC in Volvo group simulation forums
Qualifications:
Master degree or higher in mechanical engineering, physics or equivalent
Experience of simulation in automotive industry
Knowledge and experience of modeling in Simulink is meriting
Analytic skills
Have a structured and communicative way of working
English, both spoken and written.
Experience from Bus or Truck Industry is beneficial
Takes own initiatives and takes pride in delivering according to committed targets
Good networking and communication skills
