Kungsholmens gymnasium/Stockholms musikgymnasium is a successful inner-city gymnasium with 1260 students.

Description
We have a vacancy for a Student Counsellor within our International Section where all of the teaching is conducted in English. The post is 50 % of full time ie 20 hours per week. The role of Student Counsellor is part of our well-functioning Student Health Team. You would be a member of this team working with the development of the school's prevention and health promotion initiatives. We work with individual students, with groups and with classes where we look at healthy ways of dealing with situations that arise in life.

We also work with students in need of support with their study situation and with their life in general.

Tasks
You meet with students on an individual basis and support the students who need support from other professionals, be it with physical or mental health issues. You are also a member of a team of teachers and have a Student Health Team focus in that capacity.

You offer support to groups of students/classes in working with health promotion strategies as part of our preventative measures regarding stress and levels of achievement.

Qualifications
You should have a degree in Social Work (socionomexamen). The International Section students work in English and therefore the successful applicant needs to be proficient with communication in English and in Swedish - both verbally and in writing.

You should have experience of working with young people either in schools or in the Social services. It is an advantage if you have previous experience of working at upper secondary level.  

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in teams is essential.
