SSAB is at the forefront of sustainability. Our aim is to eliminate all our CO2 emissions by 2030. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join us in the historical transformation.
About the position
At SSAB you will be a key player in the overall Transition Project together with the entire project organisation. Your mission as Section Project Manager for Electrical System and Distribution is to make sure that from eletrical system and distribution point of view the transformation project is well planned and meets its milestones and objectives. You are responsible for sufficient and efficient electrical system and distribution for SSAB future mills for fossil-free production.
You provide a realistic CAPEX bugdet for major electrical system and distribution Greenfield Project and necessary actions for execution to ensure delivery on time, budget and scope. You secure mill-wide electrical system and distribution standard as well as building interfaces from mill electrical system and distribution with higher systems. Uniform platform, architecture and data management for new mill electrical system and distribution are also part of your responsibility. You support procurement in contract negotiations with equipment and service vendors. You will report to Senior Project Manager of Transformation Office. The position is permanent and will be located preferably in Raahe or Luleå. Partly remote working is negotiable depending on the project phase.
Your qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has a proven track-record of major brown or greenfield CAPEX projects involving plant Electrical Systems and Distribution from different discipline sectors from electrical engineering, installation to commissioning. Knowledge of applicable standards (ref TUKES S10) and knowhow of electrical and machine safety requirements as well as qualification of high voltage electrics is expected. Electrical qualification S1 or S2 is a merit. A Bachelor or Master’s degree in electrical power engineering is a good educational background. Experience in metal manufacturing process and knowledge from automation and SRS/SIS systems is appreciated. You have excellent project leadership skills as well as experience and deep knowledge of project management models. Official project management certification is a strong merit. You have the capacity and interest to coordinate internal and external electrical system and distribution engineering work. You communicate well in written and spoken English which is our company language. Finnish or Swedish language skills are seen as an advantage.

The transformation project is the biggest construction and operations implementation project in SSAB’s history so we must be humble but driven - together we succeed and create value. You see the broader picture and how different processes and technology areas in a complex project affect and interact with each other. To be successful in this position you are a project manager with your own drive and sense of responsibility, accuracy with good ability to work independently towards set goals and bring the group along with you.”
