SSAB - Technical Development Manager, Mobility

Join our global team as an Technical Development Manager for Mobility. You will play an important role in developing SSAB Europe’s position in Premium steels and taking the leadership of the green transformation within the steel industry. Location Borlänge or Hämeenlinna but can be discussed. Traveling is part of the role.
Technical Development Mobility is a part of Sales and Business Development organization within SSAB Europe. The teams main purpose is to supports sales and customers in technical matters within the segments Automotive and Trucks and Buses. Main targets are to give high level of support to maintain existing business and work with development projects to create new business.

The job
As the Technical Development Manager you will be the technical contact for SSABs external customers. You will ensure that our that our customers get a high level of support and achieve a strong technical relationship. Your main areas of responsibilities are:
Initiate and execute Technical Development projects and activities with customers upgrading to higher Premium products.
Provide relevant information and needed trainings to Sales and customers.
Support Sales and customers in terms of design, production and quality.
Technical knowledge and competence build up required to support development projects.
Coordinate with Product Development, Knowledge Service Center, Quality and other mill-based functions to ensure we are prepared to deliver according to customer technical requirements.

Who You Are
As a person, you are driven, independent and well organized, but still a great team player with excellent learning and problem solving skills. You have a Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering or Science and it is meritorious if you have experience from the Automotive business. You have excellent communication, and presentation skills in English and Swedish or Finnish. It is a plus if you are fluent in more languages. It is important to have the right attitude and personality for this role. For this job, it will be important to have good knowledge of SSABs products, processes and business with customers relations.
