What we are looking for
 
We are looking for a person interested in Product Development tasks in general, but preferably towards Standard & Design Support. You have ambitions and energy to develop yourself and the company in a way that later will lead to new tasks and responsibilities. As a person you enjoy working in a team and have the ability to inspire your team colleagues and feeling engaged by goal settings. Since the job consists of an extensive net of contacts both internally and externally your networking skills should be very good and prioritized.
 
Technical Support Department
 
The task for our Technical Support department is to ensure the quality and consistency of the product information, in order to increase the efficiency of the entire product development as well as the downstream processes. We are located in Gothenburg but support is given to engineers in Sweden, USA and other places in the world.
 
We are working with handling of documents, product structure and CAD models in the release of Volvo Penta products. Support in this areas is a very important part of our daily work to help our colleagues in the Penta community. We also work with CAD packaging as well as coordinate the work of standardizing and developing standards. The standards are to be used by Volvo Penta design-engineering offices, purchasing, suppliers, production and after-sales market departments. We are today about 15 persons working in different roles.
 
Responsibilites
 
The main task for a Standard Specialist is to support, train and coordinate training of our employees so they efficiently use developed standards and guidelines in their daily work. An area with special attention from your side will be screw joints, fasteners etc. The Standard Specialist also work closely with Volvo Corporate Standards and other Volvo companies.
 
We believe that you have a good technical education and that you are an experienced design engineer with good knowledge and experience of standards and standard development.
 
We also believe that you have experience/knowledge of engines and transmissions.
 
Your CV should contain listed qualifications in academic degrees (minimum Bsc or Msc). Good skills in English and Swedish is needed in this job.
