We are looking for a candidate to join our startup-team for mechanical pulping technology at Valmet Pulp Service Technology. We are looking for a dedicated team player who is ready to be a part of a global company that believes technology to be the future.
As a start-up manager, you will get the opportunity to travel all over the world and work on the latest technology. Over time, you will become one of the world’s leading experts in the field!
In this role, you will be working with the commissioning and startup of our delivered process equipment to our global customers. You will be testing the equipment and bring the plant into operation and deliver state of the art pulp at our customers sites. Your responsibilities during the checkout and startup will be to ensure that the equipment has been installed in accordance with Valmet specification and standards and includes the following actions: installation checking, cold testing of instruments, final checking of installation works, functional tests, and process simulations together with the startup of the equipment with media.
The responsibilities during the startup phase include troubleshooting and finding the solution in collaboration with your team of experts at site, and to deliver the final product to the customer in a professional way. As the lead of the startup, you need to have a cross-functional cooperation and it is also included in the role to manage the employees at Valmet, to be a consultant as well as to guide and educate our customers for different start-up activities.
Additionally, this job includes the opportunity to travel a lot with approximately 150–200 days per year. The time between travelling is devoted to preparation of projects and writing of reports, which means that we are flexible and open for your choice to live close to a Valmet office or do the work at your home-office.
To succeed in this role:
You need to have a few years of experience of operational work in the production of a pulp mill or previous experience in startup of new pulp mills.
You should be open to new opportunities, be a reliable person, as well as love to experience new places and get to know new people from all around the world.
You can connect with different kinds of people, including both colleagues and customers.
You are structured, result-oriented and like to organize your work.
You are flexible and able to change direction depending on the situation.
You will need to have a good level of written and spoken English, as you will have to be able to operate successfully in our global environment.
