As a Strategic Purchaser, you are ensuring continuous long-term supply to Höganäs’ operations of raw materials. About the position
As a Strategic Purchaser, you are part of the Direct Materials' EMEA team (including three strategic purchasers in Sweden and three in Germany) and report to the Global Sourcing Manager. This position requires fully responsible for sourcing ferrous metals, secondary materials as well as coke and lime to the three sites in EMEA (Swedish units, Höganäs and Halmstad, Höganäs Belgium and Höganäs Germany). Portfolio responsibilities can change over time.

As Strategic Purchaser you make sure that Höganäs’ current and future needs of direct material are sufficiently supported. This includes establishing strategies, identifying sourcing risks, developing the supplier base, and ensuring that Höganäs favours the best product and service with a professional relationship and a continuous market overview.

To drive our success, you will be in close collaboration with both internal and external interfaces, and you will optimize Höganäs’ supplier base by establishing and maintaining professional and long-term business relations. You will negotiate and close agreements to reach the lowest overall cost of ownership without compromising on quality and you will ensure that all systems and interfaces are kept up to date as well as make sure that all practicalities around the contract run without disturbances for involved parties. Also, you will make tactical and strategic decisions within the scope of the sourcing portfolio and take the lead in the annual supplier performance evaluation.

Travelling is required for about 15-30 days/year.

Your profile
We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree in economics/logistics or similar and have a minimum of five years of working experience, preferably with a background in metal sourcing or trading. You are a strong communicator and have excellent English skills in speech and writing. You have a wide commercial/business interest and are a team player who actively engage people by sharing, helping or asking for help when needed.

As a person you are proactive, transparent, performance and result oriented. You have high integrity and ethical standards. Technical knowledge in the field of responsibility and good computer literacy (ERP systems, Microsoft Office etc.) are required.
