Who are we?
Volvo Cars’ next generation infotainment system is based on Android Embedded, where we take full responsibility for setting up and maintaining the environment for enabling Software build and Continuous Integration. A well thought through and maintained CM (Control Monitoring) architecture and work environment is a prerequisite for successful in-house software development, where building, testing, and releasing software happens rapidly, frequently, and reliably. We are applying modern software development practices, supported with continuous integration frameworks and collaboration tools in the DevOps toolchain.

What you'll do
During the internship, the student will be part of a team that enables the DevOps tool chain used in the software development producing Volvo Cars’ next generation infotainment software platform and functionality, working together with different stakeholders to provide the environment needed, striving for high grade of automated software build, integration, test and delivery; fast feedback loops for the developers and visualization of progress for stakeholders inside and outside the development teams.
You will do a lot of programming in different languages such as Python. You will work as a part of a team developing the in-house tools including the building blocks needed for the CI (Continuous Integration) chain.
There will be a high level of cooperation with the development teams working in an agile setup and you will assist the improvement work around software development.

Who are you?
You have a passion for programming and strive for continuous integration and scripting and are excellent in programming in languages such as Python, scripting in any other language is a plus.
You have integrity, courage, positive energy and a personality characterized by willingness to innovate and take on new challenges, being result oriented and striving for improvements.
You have experience of working in an agile environment, preferably SAFe or SCRUM.
You have worked with software and/or software development.
You are structured, data driven and have good documentation skills. People see you as cooperative and transparent.
As we are a global company, you need to be proficient in English, bot verbal and written, have strong communication skills, and being able to deal with stakeholders at various levels.
Act with an agnostic mind-set regarding usage of tools and other decisions that might be up for considerations, i.e. best practices should be used according to VCC strategies and requirements.
