Supply Network Quality, Supplier Evaluation Specialist for Services, Digital & Investments (SD&I)

The Supply Network Quality (SNQ) audit department, belonging to Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing, is driving the global supplier base towards premium automotive quality standards. Our department is responsible for continuous improvement of the supplier base by evaluating potential and existing suppliers with a risk-based approach.


This is us, your new colleagues


We are a group of 10 people based in China, India, Sweden, Belgium, France, Mexico, Brazil and USA. We evaluate existing and potentially new suppliers, mainly by audits on-site. Main audits performed are SEM (Supplier Evaluation Model) for AP (Automotive Products) and SD&I suppliers, Sustainability audits (CSR-live audits) and potentially also other audits from our toolbox. Our team is characterized by openness, teamwork, and a willingness to share with colleagues. We are now looking for a new colleague to join us!


Role description


The job as a Supplier Evaluation Specialist (SES) is many times challenging and often rewarding.
In the role you are the SNQ expert to evaluate supplier’s capability, performance and potential in several aspects based on a risk management approach by auditing suppliers. As a part of successful risk evaluations, you secure that GTP select the right suppliers and improves the current supplier base.
The main area of responsibility is to support SD&I SEM audits and SD&I CSR live audits globally. In the SNQ audit team we are certified to perform SD&I SEM audits, hence an important task is to coordinate all SD&I SEM and CSR live audits globally to make sure the audits are performed according to the requests. The Supplier Evaluation Specialist is responsible to maintain and develop the SD&I SEM and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) live audit tool. Another task is to assess the needs, develop and train new auditors in cooperation and agreement with the continental management.
You will be an expert in the area, and an important part of the role is to conduct trainings for colleagues regarding audit skills. In addition, calibration of lead auditors is also an important task for the role in order to secure a fact based and robust output from the audits.

To succeed in the role, you utilize your organizational skills, holistic view and eyes for the details. You are able to make risk assessments and have good analytical skills. We hope you prefer working independently and together with others and since you will be interacting with internal colleagues and supplier management teams, we believe you are a strong communicator and that you like to share and coach others. We also believe you have a proactive and problem-solving mindset and an ability to make decisions.
The job requires frequent travels (up to 3-4 times per month).


Main requirements
Bachelor in Engineering, or several years of purchasing/sustainability experience (extensive experience and strong performance can substitute for academic degree)
Audit skills and good knowledge of ISO 19011
Strong continuous improvement skills
Experience from various production/service processes
An interest for sustainability
English language skills, both orally and in writing



Nice to have
Experience from supplier quality work within the automotive business.
Knowledge of sustainability standards such as SA8000
Cyber security standards like ISO 27001.
