Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

The Supplier Quality Team leads and improves supplier quality on site, and is responsible for continual improvements in supplier quality control and manufacturing capabilities for serial production. This team also has responsibility for achieving performance targets set by Supplier Quality management, by enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organization and cooperating with all key stakeholders within the BA. The position is located in Sandviken, but will support both the Sandviken and Köping Mining sites.

Key performance areas
As a Supplier Quality Engineer you work with supplier improvements, initially by gathering data for assessment of quality. You are responsible for adherence to internal and external policies, regulations and laws as well as suppliers' compliance with Sandvik policies and guidelines, including EHS and the Supplier Code of Conduct. You manage the audit process for suppliers, evaluate their action plans and initiate and validate corrective and preventive actions for them. Furthermore, you notify suppliers of their evaluation status, in co-operation with the site sourcing team, and ensure all are working with the correct processes, leveraging systems and tools.

This position includes traveling 40-50% of the time.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Bachelors' degree in a technical field and experience with Quality Management or Improvement from a manufacturing or an engineering industry. At least three years' experience of working within Supplier Quality and skills in MS Office are required, while previous work with process-focused quality improvement is an advantage. Good skills in English, in both writing and speaking, are a prerequisite.
