Supplier Readiness Specialist

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Supplier Readiness Specialist supports the Purchasing organization by proactively monitoring and supervising suppliers in green arrow projects, to ensure on-time completion of series tooling and deliveries of parts. Here your task is to avoid trouble shooting activities prior to project launch.

The role involves working with suppliers and toolmakers as well as cross functionally within the Scania organization. You will be responsible for various parts and suppliers and you will travel frequently to our suppliers and toolmakers, most of them placed in Europe. You will report to the manager of the department Supplier Development and Readiness that is a part of Capacity and Risk Management (CRM) within Purchasing.

Main tasks


• Be responsible for preventive support of new product launches
• Analysis of critical paths in the suppliers’ time plans, development-, tool fabrication-, tool-transfer- and manufacturability-processes in order to check their plausibility and opportunities for optimization
• Participation in commitment reviews with suppliers
• Tracking of technical data releases from engineering
• Support availability of parts in time at different milestones (e.g. first off tool (FOT) and PPAP samples)
• Identification and analysis of supplier weaknesses with regards to their responsibilities during the product development process; support of corrective measures
• On site analysis of suppliers and toolmakers in order to identify risks and waste

Your profile

You have most probably an academic degree in engineering and have good experience in different production processes, tool manufacturing and quality assurance. It is an advantage if you have skills related to project work and/or project management, ideally within Scania and/or the automotive industry.

Good language skills in English are a requirement.
You have the ability to collaborate as well as build trust and you are clear in your communication with others. You will meet many new contacts in an international environment where different cultures meet. It is therefore essential that you create and maintain good relationships. You should have high integrity and good judgement. Travelling is a part of the work and you need to manage new situations.
