We are now looking for a System Engineer to the System Engineering section, R&D in Uppsala.
As a System engineer, you will get the opportunity to work with world-leading products in Life Sciences, and work daily with fantastically talented and committed colleagues. You will be involved in the entire product life cycle from development to maintenance and support.
The section is part of the Downstream Systems department which develops instrument and software for liquid chromatography (ÄKTA System and UNIOCORN software). Within the department we have many different competences such as mechanics, electronics, system and application, and we work in close collaboration with the software department, Downstream Software. The work is conducted in an agile framework and organized around teams, where we develop products for Life Sciences industry and academia.
The mission of R&D is to provide a steady stream of new products to meet and solve the challenges of our customers. This role includes product development activities as well as line activities.
What you’ll do
You will contribute in all phases of development of our products, from specifying the need from the customer, develop test-and verification plans including test procedures, to perform verification and validation of the instruments and software’s, and develop user documentation and training material.
Your main tasks will include;
Deliver new software products to the market and our customers
Work in a multidisciplinary environment, side-by-side with software developers and System Engineers, to reach common short- and long-term goals
Contribute with product and customer expertise across the organization
As part of a team, plan and deliver the teams commitments. Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
Understand the need from the customer and define new software features
Create user- and system requirements for software, and procedures for verification
Plan, execute and report results from verification and validation of system and sub-system
Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product in collaboration with the team
Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project and/or line related work
Continuously work with improvements regarding ways of working
Who you are
Master’s degree from relevant life science discipline, e.g. Biotechnology or equal
Minimum 2 years of industrial experience
UNICORN and chromatography knowledge with a strong customer focus are highly desired
Knowledge & experience from software product development
Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
Experience of system and/or software specification, verification and validation
Knowledge and experience of test management systems is desired
Demonstrated problem solving ability with proven analytical skills
Demonstrated ability of planning, executing experiments and evaluating results
Interest in user experience aspects and system and software workflows
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
Demonstrated ability to deliver according to deadlines
Resourceful and proactive
Ability to take own initiatives and find ways to come to decisions
Ability to work and act cross-functionally in the organization
Structured and organized team player with good interpersonal skills
Swedish and English as working languages
