System Designer

The department Power Supply within the unit Electrics/Electronics & E-Propulsion is responsible for developing HW solutions and Software functionality for Low voltage (12-60V) power supply systems. We are focusing on development of 12V- and 48V energy recovery systems (mild hybrids), both incorporating Li-ion battery technology, electric propulsion, power electronics, system and SW development, as well as new power supply solutions for our Autonomous Drive vehicles.

The recent years with strong focus on CO2-reduction has led to an increase of features within the sections responsibility as we need to develop high performing- and energy efficient power supply systems, balancing performance with cost and weight. As a System Designer, you will be responsible for development of power supply solutions and function development. The work will mainly focus on our projects but some work will also be done within the advanced engineering.

Main responsibilities

* Balancing of attributes for system solution and components
* Secure documentation for system solution
* Establish relations with suppliers
* Development of simulation models
* Reporting according to project plans
* Participating in testing activities both in rig and vehicle
* Take part of competitor benchmark activities

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. or higher within Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent theoretical level
* Good knowledge of English, spoken and written
* Simulink and model based engineering is meritorious
* Work in the field of electrical system or electric propulsion
* Product development work within Volvo Car Group is an asset
* Electric machine and power electronics skills is meritorious
