Systems Engineer

Klarna is growing rapidly and with it our IT-Operation needs. IT-Operations consist of 6 teams, where ?Applications? is one of them. The team is newly formed with the aim to provide operational support for Klarna's vendor supplied enterprise systems. With this ad we are hoping to fill two positions for a system that provides core banking functionality.

As a Systems Engineer for vendor applications you will perform the following tasks:
- Installations & upgrades. Includes release and configuration management in general (knowing upcoming vendor releases, including any requested hotfixes, etc) and deployment automation of vendor systems to different target environments.

- Configuration. Includes requesting configuration input from business and technical stakeholders, configuring the vendor software according to requested specifications across all instances. Also includes questions around automating configurations.

- Testing. UAT of the product (inviting stakeholders to UAT sessions, performing tests, documenting results, etc), other tests and coordination of tests. Might include performance testing.

- Monitoring and Incident Handling. Making sure the system is well monitored and that incidents are handled fast and professionally (including on-call duty). Some alarms can be handed over to other teams for handling.

- Being a point of escalation in Klarna's support-chain. Cases might be escalated to this team from other departments and support-teams.

- Operational administration. Tasks as "restoring of backups" and other sysadmin-like tasks will be on this group to do.

- Vendor liason. The teams and other key stakeholders interface directly with the vendor on questions and issues. Activities inludes; new/changed requirements, training needs, support needs, etc

To be successful in this role you need to be highly technical yet social and unafraid, like to take ownership and drive change. You want to be the best at what you do!

We are looking for people who:
- Have an higher education within IT.
- Excellent knowledge in Linux.
- Have a background within financial IT (preferably payments).
- Experience in scripting and programming (Bash, Perl, Java).
- Experience in relational databases (preferably Oracle).
- Experience with incident handling and on-call.
- Agile ways of working (kanban).
- Know configuration and release management tools like Chef, Puppet, Perforce, CFengine or Slack
- Cloudstack automation.
- English (fluently) and preferably Swedish as well.
